Biography for
Kim (Tate) Anderson


Kim was born in Chicago Illinois the youngest of three by nine years.    She is the mother of 6; the youngest two are 12 and the eldest 28.  Kim won the Ms. Black Arizona pageant competition in 1989 and she went on to win the Mrs. Miller Lite, Mrs. Black Velvet and Star Search for Arizona between the years of 1990 thru 1992. 


Kim’s career led her down the path as an Instructional Designer, Technical Trainer, Technical Writer and as a Motivational Speaker in the banking industry.   She has modeled professionally for over 25 years and is the Founder and CEO of Tenacity Dramatic Modeling and Entertainment Co.


In January 2007, Kim felt a strong desire from God to start a unique program for women.  Remembering the devastation of hurricane Katrina, she wanted to face the immediate need in her state with solutions and assistance that would empower women through counseling and referral services that would help them rebuild their lives emotionally, professionally and spiritually.  As a result she hosted one of the largest entertainment showcases and donated 100% of the proceeds to 5 local charities and gave 10 humanitarian awards to local citizens including Governor Janet Napolitano and Mayor Phil Gordon.


The project named DIVA’S of Distinction serves as a resource and  referral service that offers women suffering from drug abuse, spousal abuse, debilitating illnesses, cancer, breast cancer, HIV, incarceration, unemployment, teen pregnancy and alcoholism an opportunity to regain control over their lives
“Leaving No Woman Left Behind!”


Kim is the Chairman of the Board and etiquette coach for the Miss Black Arizona and Miss Black Teen Arizona organization and in her spare time she continues to host entertainment showcases of the valley’s finest talent through dance, song, spoken word and motivational speaking.  She enjoys all sports, the movies, spending time with her new husband and playing with her Yorkie puppy (Lil' Man).
